Honeymoons in North America
Honeymoons in Wyoming
A honeymoon in Wyoming is your chance to visit real cowboy country, complete with rodeos, ranches and red rock scenery. The state features two outstanding national parks, many traditional western towns, a historic Indian Reservation and much more.
Wyoming's landscape includes mountains, desert and scrubland. The dramatic Bighorn mountains are accompanied by the desertscape of Bighorn Basin, and the mountain vistas of Grand Teton National Park are a highly impressive sight. The simmering geothermal landscape of Yellowstone, the other major national park in the state, is awesome.
At the heart of rich prairie land you will find Wyoming's capital, Cheyenne. The quiet city is transformed every July by the vibrant Frontier Days Festival, which celebrates the Old West. All across Wyoming you will find ranches that have changed little for decades, filled with romantic western charm. The surrounding fields are home to countless horses and calves.
The most lively town in the state is Jackson, home to a cosmopolitan and arty community. The city's many bars and restaurants line its old west style boardwalks. The town of Cody, developed by Buffalo Bill, is also a pleasure to visit. Nearby is the Buffalo Bill Historical Center which houses an extensive collection of western Americana.
The Wind River Indian Reservation is well worth a visit. Well over a century old, this site offers a fascinating insight into American Indian culture. Powwows are held here regularly, and you can take part in them if you wish.
Your honeymoon in Wyoming will be a unique experience, uncovering an American state of distinct natural beauty and strong western traditions.
